Village Sessions

The Village Sessions are our newest community event. These workshops mirror and continue the learning started in the Village space at the festival. 2016 was our trail run, get ready for an amazing lineup for 2017.

Introduction to Mosaics-
October 2017- SOLD OUT
Festival Friend Barb Harnden leads us through the basics of the mosaic process at her home studio. You'll have the opportunity to work on two pieces and explore different tecniques. 
Limited to 12 participants.


June 2017- Fermentation- Working with local growers allows us to enjoy food at its freshest, but preserving that food helps us to live sustainably year-round. Andrea Wheeldon from "The Living Kitchen" will be presenting the basics of vegetable fermentation at our workshop, sharing the benefits of this simple preservation method as a part of a sustainable-food lifestyle. We'll also get some hands on practice with sauerkraut!

Canadian Women Working in Music teams up with Shelter Valley to present: Village session- Sound Production for women! 

Learn the fundamentals of live sound in this 3-hour crash course! Experienced live sound technician Maxime Brunet will run through the basics - how to set up a sound board, basic mixing, terminology, common issues and how to fix them. If you've been interested in learning live sound, now's your chance! This village session is co-produced by Canadian Women Working in Music. 

Space is limited to 8 participants; please register in advance.
