Summer Student Opportunities

Shelter Valley Folk Festival is pleased to announce that we have two summer student positions available:

Production Assistant

Shelter Valley Folk Festival is seeking a part time post-secondary school student returning to school this fall. Candidates must be Canadian, and between 15-30 years of age. The position would begin in June and end in late August. Shelter Valley Folk Festival is an equal opportunity employer.

This position will focus on the needs of the Labour Day weekend Festival. Tasks include, but aren’t limited to: ticket sale management, the creation of online record keeping and reports, and the coordination of Festival event requirements to support our staff and volunteers. The Assistant will also help with daily administrative needs, website and social media content creation. Please tell us about your skills managing sales, coordinating activities and helping the community. As well please include any experience you have with computer programing, graphic design, and social media. Experience with Drupal is an asset.

Fundraising Coordinator

Shelter Valley Folk Festival is seeking an 8 week part time post-secondary school student returning to school this fall. Candidates must be Canadian, and between 15-30 years of age. The position would begin June 6th and end July 29th Shelter Valley Folk Festival is an equal opportunity employer.

This position will focus on developing and implementing a fundraising plan and assisting with the marketing of Shelter Valley Folk Festival. Duties will include but aren’t limited to: managing volunteers, communication with donors, and liaising with board members. The fundraising coordinator will support the organization in meeting or exceeding its fundraising targets through direct and indirect fundraising initiatives. The fundraising coordinator will also assist in the development and implementation of the advertising strategy. Please tell us about your skills coordinating fundraising events, calling donors, managing volunteers and hitting targets.  Education relating to Fundraising or Marketing will be an asset.
